An attractive vintage Rolex Prince reference 1879 from the with import hallmarks for Glasgow 1925. This classic Rolex watch oozes with timeless charm with its 9ct gold case and professionally refurbished dial.
This Rolex watch is powered by a recently serviced "Ultra Prima" manual wind movement. The Ultra Prima is the rarest and most accurate of the movements used by Rolex at the time. After construction movements were tested for accuracy with those performing in the top 10% being given the "Ultra Prima" designation followed by those less accurate being given the designation of "Extra Prima" and finally "Prima".
Condition wise this Rolex Prince is in excellent vintage condition. The case is largely free from major dints and scratches and retains good depth of colour. The movement is mechanically sound having just received a full service and time keeping is excellent for its age. The dial has been professionally refurbished and along with the hands is in excellent condition. If we were to fault it, when viewed closely or under a loupe the previous location of elements (e.g. hour markers) of the dial is lightly visible, although this is not noticeable when on the wrist.
All in all this vintage Rolex Prince offers timeless style and amazing accuracy for a watch of its era. With Rolex Prince's trading well over £15k in some London dealers this example offers tremendous value!
