A lovely example of the iconic Heuer Camaro 7220 N.

The Heuer Camaro was created under the leadership of Jack Heuer in the late 1960s. The name was chosen as an affiliation with the Chevrolet Camaro, in the hopes of increasing watch sales within the American market. The Camaro had made a name for itself as a powerful and stylish car, and it was hoped that this association would be beneficial for the Heuer brand.

The watch we have here is a reference 7220, a 7220 N to be exact. The Heuer Camaro 7220 is one of the most popular and well-known from the Camaro range. Released in 1969 alongside the iconic Monaco, it was the first Camaro model and ran most of the way through the Camaro lifespan. It was eventually succeeded by the 73463 for a short time until production ceased altogether.

The '7220' reference number is derived from the Valjoux 72 movement which powered this model. It was produced in 3 executions and a total of 10 individual models (not including the solid gold 7228), which is the most of any of the Camaro range.

The watch was popular with racing drivers and other celebrities alike and has become a much-loved classic in the Heuer range.

If you're a fan of motorsport or just want to add what is frankly a stunning and unique watch to your collection, this Heuer Camaro 7220 N deserves your attention. These are especially popular so don't hesitate if you're interested - these watches usually don't stick around for very long!

Condition Report

Condition Report:

Presented in overall excellent vintage condition. The dial has taken on a beautifully faded tone with matching lume plots on both the dial and hands. The case remains in good order. There are scratches as would be expected for its age but the original sunburst effect bezel is still clearly visible. The movement has just returned from a full service and finally the watch is fitted with a gorgeous leather strap topped off with a Heuer buckle.
