Omega Speedmaster Ref. 145.022-74

A fine example of the Omega Speedmaster Ref. 145.022-74 featuring the rarely seen step dial (usually associated with examples of the 145.022 from 1971 and before). Speedmasters from the 1970's have been gaining traction over the past few years as prices for earlier examples sore to prices out of the reach of most. As attention turns more to the reference 145.022, the variations and oddities among this reference are becoming more appreciated.

Condition:

• Dial: Stepped dial with stunning even patina.
• Hands: Handset matches the patina on the dial. Sub-dial hands are also in excellent condition.
• Crystal: The crystal is clean and free from major scratches. The Omega emblem can be seen at the centre.
• Case: The case remains in excellent condition with sharp edges and free from major dings as is often an issue for the Speedies. The case back remains in excellent shape also with the writing clear and largely free from damage.
• Bezel: Original "tall tachy" DN90 bezel is in great shape with only minor dings.
• Movement / Functionality: Movement is clean and serviced, with the serial falling in the correct range for this reference. Chronograph starts, stops, and resets with no issues.
• Bracelet: The watch is fitted with a reference correct 1171 bracelet with 633 endlinks. Do note the Extract states a reference 1170 bracelet likely pointing to a change (albeit correct for the watch) to the current 1171. Will fit wrists upto 18.5cm.
• Accessories: The watch comes with an Extract from the Archives showing delivery to France in February 26, 1974.
