An excellent example of the Rolex Air-King 14010. Hailing from circa 1995, this Air-King reference 14010 features a clean, time only dial and elegant engine turned bezel.

The Air King is one of Rolex's longest standing models having been in production for over 70 years. The 140xx series, which this watch belongs, was introduced in 1989 with production running through to 2007. It composed of the reference 14000 fitted with a smooth bezel and the 14010 with the engine turned bezel. Both featured a 34mm oyster case, time-only dial, and steel oyster bracelet.

Notable improvements over the previous generation included the use of sapphire crystals and the calibre 3000. Mid way through their production tritium lume was also replaced in favour of luminova.

For those curious of the difference to the later 140xxm series, it was mainly related to the use of the upgraded calibre 3130. Luminova was also replaced by Super Luminova on these models.

The Rolex Air-King, especially in the guise of the reference 14010 can be considered a true "sleeper watch", its a watch for those in the know, those that appreciate understated design but don't need to shout about it.

Condition Report:

Presented in overall excellent condition. The dial remains clean as does the glass. The case and bezel remain sharp and showing only light scratches as would be expected for a watch of its age. The reference 78350 Oyster bracelet is in good overall condition with some light marks and scratches. It will fit wrists up to 17cm. Extra links can be sourced at cost. Finally the movement benefits from having just received a full service.
