It was around the '80s when watch brands created watch dials that would crack over time and create an effect resembling a spider's web. Due to factory defects (wrong mixtures in the lacquer) and weather conditions (direct sunlight, temperature changes, etc.), the dial lacquer cracked and the spider dial was born.
