The Heuer Camaro 7220 NT gets its name from the Valjoux 72 chronograph movement at its heart. Carrera, Autavia and Monaco may be the best known automotive-inspired Heuers. But the Camaro, made between 1968 and 1972, holds a special place in the hearts of many racing watch collectors. Not least because the Camaro was reputedly key to Jack Heuer’s North American marketing plans. Now, over 50 years on, you can put this piece of Heuer watch history in your collection.
A lovely example of pre-TAG Heuer horology
Are you a Heuer or TAG Heuer collector with a Camaro itch to scratch? If so, this watch would make a sound investment. Or perhaps you just fancy another interesting piece for your motorsport-themed collection? Either way, this Camaro 7220 NT with workhorse Valjoux 72 movement is a great way to bag a lovely example of pre-TAG Heuer horology. It’s a timepiece that still looks amazing, even when compared to modern racing chronographs. The plexi crystal’s soft curves still complement the three-register chronograph dial as well as they did in the late 1960s. Further, this particular watch’s bezel sunburst effect remains clearly visible – not always the case with such Heuers due to over-zealous polishing – and contrasts beautifully with the polished case sides.
This Heuer Camaro 7220 NT delivers instant nostalgia
With its sublime cushion case, timeless styling, cylinder chrono pushers and tachymeter dial, this Camaro delivers an instant link back to the year Jo Siffert famously won the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch – and F1’s sad farewell to the legendary Jim Clark.
Who knows the stories that this gorgeous hand-winding Heuer Camaro 12 could tell – about races watched and fast cars driven over the decades? Best of all, it comes newly serviced and with our usual guarantee – a working beauty with the so-desirable character and subtle witness marks from half a century of on-wrist service. What do the late 1960s and early 1970s mean to you? Just imagine the pleasure and nostalgia this Camaro could evoke for you. Make it yours today. Contact us now!

What if something goes wrong with the watch
Whilst all our watches are fully serviced before sale, if something does go wrong, we'll repair it for free as part of our 1 year warranty
Do watches come with original box and papers?
It depends on the individual watch. You can see details under "The Basics" heading on this page. For the majority of vintage watches their original box and papers have been lost to time. Whilst they are nice to have, it’s important to note that “box and papers” DO NOT authenticate a watch despite what many in our trade say. It’s also important to realise alot of sellers (including some of the most well known in the UK) put together full sets of box, papers, hang tags etc by buying blank paperwork and boxes in the secondary market. This is a very regrettable, but unfortunately common occurrence in the trade but something we will never do!
How do I know it will fit?
For metal bracelets we provide the size it will currently fit in the description section of this page. If this measurement is too large or too small we are able to assist in either adding or removing links. We also offer this service, post service on a at-cost basis (i.e. we don't add a margin).
Can you change the strap?
Absolutely! If you don't like the current strap, let us know and we'll change it for free! We maintain a broad selection of styles and can also source straps to your specification free of charge.
Can you source something similar?
Absolutely! If its not quite what you’re looking for just get in touch and we can source one with our Free, No Obligation sourcing service. You can contact us on phone, live chat or simply submit the details of what you’re looking for on our “Find a Watch” page.
