An exceptional example of the wonderful and highly collectible Omega Speedmaster 125 378.0801 ST / 178.0002 ST.

The Omega Speedmaster 125 was launched in 1973 as a commemorative watch by Omega to celebrate their 125th anniversary. It was the first Omega to feature an automatic chronograph chronometer based on the brand's first automatic chronograph featured in the Speedmaster Mark III.

The Omega Speedmaster 125 is a watch with real presence, featuring a big, heavy and chunky case that measures 51mm x 42mm, is 15mm thick and weighs more than 180 grams!

This fascinating case design consists of two parts; an outer frame and an inner round case. The outer frame gives the Speedmaster 125 its distinctive appearance which also includes its integrated bracelet. The smaller round case houses the movement, and can be pushed into the square case frame where an o ring/gasket holds the case in place.

The dial layout is exactly the same as the Omega Speedmaster Mark IIIs, except for the name obviously. Here, the Omega logo and wording, as well as the "125", are applied steel, while the "Speedmaster" is painted.
