A rare and fine vintage Heuer Skipper reference 15640 from circa 1972. In stunning condition with a sharp case, near mint dial and fully serviced movement, this is a true collector's piece!
The Heuer Skipper has become one of the most collectable of vintage Heuer's in recent years. It's instantly recognisable and attractive design and low production numbers have made the Skipper relatively rare, especially examples in this condition.
Originally designed for yacht racing, the Skipper features a "regatta timer", the small red, white and blue sub dial that was used to countdown the 15 minutes skippers had before the start of a regatta.
This particular example is in excellent condition having been looked after remarkably well by its previous owner - a Heuer collector and enthusiast. The case retains good sharpness with its combination of brushed and polished steel. The bezel is in outstanding condition considering the age and use of these watches as is the dial which is free from major marks or water damage.
The calibre 15 automatic movement has just had a full service from our watch maker and is running strong. Finally we've fitted a brand new leather strap to complete the package.
We expect this to be one of those watches that flys (or should we say sails...) out the door! All in all a stunning example of a highly collectable and attractive model.
