Angular, futuristic, and unmistakably 1980s—the Omega Seamaster Quartz Mariner III Ref. 196.0242 is a standout example of the brand’s bold experimentation during the quartz era.

Crafted in stainless steel and framed by a gold-tone bezel, this model perfectly captures the design language of the early '80s—clean lines, geometric forms, and that irresistible mix of sportiness and elegance Omega does so well. The sharp rectangular case (measuring approx. 27.5mm wide, excluding crown) wears confidently but remains sleek and refined on the wrist.

The deep black dial features minimalist baton hour markers and hands, a subtle minute track, and the classic “Seamaster Quartz” script at six o’clock. A practical date window sits neatly at the base, while the dial’s clean design keeps things timelessly modern. The quartz movement inside ensures reliable timekeeping, true to the era's push for precision and convenience.

Fitted to a third-party two-tone bracelet that echoes the original aesthetic, this piece channels serious vintage energy. While we’d normally pair this with a quality leather strap, we think the current bracelet suits it brilliantly—it’s the kind of combo that feels straight off a Milan fashion week mood board from 1984.

The Seamaster Mariner line was Omega’s bold answer to the quartz revolution, merging the robust spirit of its iconic dive watches with forward-thinking case architecture. The Mariner III, in particular, is now being rediscovered by collectors and design enthusiasts alike for its unconventional elegance and historical significance.

Only one available—and models like this, especially in such clean condition, are getting harder to find. As always, you’ve got 14 days to try it out and change your mind. But if you’re after a vintage Omega with a bit of edge, this one’s quietly calling your name.
