Breitling Top Time 2002: A Chronograph Classic with Mid-Century Charm
An excellent example of the Breitling Top Time reference 2002. In the dynamic 1960s, when icons like Sean Connery and The Beatles shaped popular culture, Breitling introduced the Top Time. This line targeted a younger, style-conscious audience who craved sporty chronographs without the hefty price tag of the established Navitimer and Chronomat. The Top Time delivered just that, exuding youthful appeal with its diverse range of case and dial configurations.

Inspired by a New Generation
Breitling recognized the shift in tastes; this new generation sought watches that mirrored their fast-paced lives. The Top Time answered the call with bold dials, including our favourite "reverse panda" design (black with contrasting white subdials). It also delivered classic styling with panda variations (white with black subdials), alongside more unconventional dials in blue or bright colors. Its case shapes and pushers reflected the chronograph trends of the era, offering variety alongside performance.

The Reference 2002
Within the Top Time family, the two sub dial, reference 2002 was one of the most popular. Its minimalist chronograph lines made it a standout from the start. Initially equipped with Venus manual-wind movements, it later transitioned to Valjoux calibers – adding even more reliability to its timeless design. And for fans of spy thrillers, this reference achieved screen fame as the first-ever Bond watch to receive a 'Q' upgrade – outfitted with a Geiger counter in the film "Thunderball."

Condition Report: Presented in excellent vintage condition and one of the best examples we've seen. The dial remains clean and the case sharp with only light scratching as commensurate with its age. The watch is currently functioning well but is currently undergoing a full service. The watch has been fitted with a new, 3rd party leather strap.
