The Heuer Carrera was launched in 1963 at the Basel Fair as part of Jack Heuer's vision to reboot the brand with a refreshed collection focusing on chronographs. As it happens this was the same year the Porsche Carrera was launched, coincidence or not, you decide!

It is said the Carrara was a passion project for Jack Heuer. He set out to create a watch that was as attractive as it was practical. One that had everything you need but nothing you don't. I think you'll agree, he hit the mark!

The Carrera would go on to win praise both on and off the track for its highly legible and attractive design. In fact, its design has become so iconic that in 2010 Tag Heuer decided to honour it with a "re-edition". But when you can buy an original why buy a modern copy?

Its 36mm steel case, timeless dial design and reliable manual wind Valjoux movement makes the vintage Heuer Carrera as desirable today as it was back in the 1960s, possibly even more so today with the way prices continue to rise!

This particular vintage Carrera is the reference 3647S, also known as the Carrera 45 for its 45-minute register at 3 o’clock. Both its case and dial are in fantastic condition for its age as is the recently serviced manual wind Valjoux calibre 92 movement that powers this beautiful watch.

All in all a beautiful example of a truly iconic watch and one that is sure to rise in value in the coming years.
