Heuer Skipper Ref. 73464 (2nd Execution) Men's Vintage Watch

A stunning, near NOS (new-old-stock) example of the Heuer Skipper Ref. 73464. The Heuer Skipper has become one of Heuer's most iconic and collectable models in recent years. Designed for yacht racing with its bold, multi-coloured 15-minute count-down register, the Heuer Skipper has a stunning presence to it.

Whilst typically associated with motor racing and aviation, Heuer also made an array of timing devices for a number of other sports. Yacht racing was one such sport and the Skipper was the model they developed for it. 

The dial on this Second Execution ref. 73464 model features a white, blue and red sub-dial (opposed to a red, white, and blue one on the 1st execution models) at three o’clock that counts down from 15 minutes (the critical time before the start of the race where yachts jockey for position).

The different colours of the sub-dial help the user to quickly and accurately establish how much time they have left. The colourful sub-dial perfectly matches with the blue dial and accented orange hands and hour markers. The design is both stunning and highly practical! 

This particular example retains its original blue MH (minutes, hours) bezel which remains in near new condition. The case is also near faultless given its age as is the condition of the dial. The movement, a manually-wound, two-register Valjoux 7734 calibre is in truly immaculate condition, appearing barely used.

This really is a collector's piece and you'd be pushed to find another in anywhere close to this condition. With examples like this becoming rarer by the day, we can only imagine prices will continue to rise in the years to come. Snap this one up quickly because we fear it may be a long time until we come across another like it!
