Omega Seamaster 2849-2SC, 1958

An attractive black dialled Omega Seamaster 2849-2SC from circa 1958. The black dial of this Seamaster reference 2849-2SC perfectly contrasts with its gilt applied dart hour batons and gilt lance hands.

The Seamaster reference 2849 was launched circa 1956 and features a 34.5mm stainless steel case and powered by the automatic calibre 503 movement. The lugs are thicker than those found on the dressier De Ville of Seamaster de Ville ranges and give the Seamaster 2849 a bolder presence on the wrist.

Black dial variants of the Seamaster are always a favourite, offering a more flexible look to their silver or gold dialled cousins. This is the type of watch that would look equally at home in the boardroom as it would over pints with the lads.

Condition & Notes:

Dial: Generally good condition. Some marks to the dial become visible at certain angles (see photos) but overall still very clean. Possibly refurbished in the past.

Case: Overall good condition with lugs still showing clear lines. Some minor scratches to the case as would be expected for a watch of its age.

Movement: Serviced and in good working order.

Strap: Fitted to a new alligator embossed leather strap. Other straps are available on request.
