A fine and rare example of the seldom seen Speedmaster reference 145.003. The reference 145.003 was identical to the 105.003-65 and only distinguishable by the reference provided on the paperwork. In the over 8 years we've been selling vintage Speedmasters this is the first example that's crossed our desks and a gorgeous one at that!

The "Ed White" Legacy: Historical Essence of the "Ed White" Speedmaster

For seasoned collectors, the Omega Speedmaster 105.003, aka the "Ed White", holds a revered place in the pantheon of Speedmaster history. This specific reference, steeped in space exploration lore, is distinguished as the last Speedmaster with straight lugs, making it a unique and highly sought-after model. The 105.003 is famously associated with astronaut Ed White, who wore it during America's first spacewalk in 1965, further solidifying its legendary status among enthusiasts. As an aside, an Ed White holds a special place in our hearts being the first watch we purchased when we founded Time Rediscovered over 7 years ago!

The Heart: Calibre 321

At the core of the Speedmaster 105.003's appeal is the Omega Calibre 321 movement. Esteemed for its robustness and reliability, this manually wound chronograph movement has been celebrated for its intricate column-wheel mechanism. The Calibre 321 not only symbolizes mechanical ingenuity but also represents a significant chapter in Omega's history, being integral to the Speedmaster line during its most pivotal moments in space exploration.

Complete with Original Omega Box and Documentation

Enhancing the collectible value, this Speedmaster comes complete with its original Omega box, guarantee booklet, and instruction manuals. See further down the page for a full condition report
