A great example of the Omega Speedmaster 145.022-71, fully serviced and in wonderful original condition.
Originally launched in 1968, the Omega Speedmaster Ref.145.022 was first of the 861 calibre Speedmasters. With early examples having had time to develop an attractive vintage feel and coming in significantly cheaper than their earlier cal. 321 predecessors, the 145.022 has a lot to offer enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Whilst the 145.022 didn’t go to the moon, you’ll often hear the terms “Transitional”, “Pre-Moon” and “Post-Moon” branded about when discussing the reference 145.022. If you want to get into the nitty gritty of these subtleties head over to Fratello Watches who've created a great two part guide (Part 1, Part 2).
If you're looking for a vintage Omega Speedmaster without the heavy price tag, you'll be hard pushed to find a better choice than a 145.022!
