This Zenith Sporto, from the 1950s, represents a robust and sturdy timepiece with sporty elements; this watch was produced at a time where watchmaking was at a crossroads when deciding whether to prioritise practicality or aesthetics. However, we believe this watch possesses a good balance of both.
The Zenith Sporto was popular in the 50s, before slowly being phased out of production in the '60s, before eventually meeting its end in the '70s.
This particular example is in overall good condition and features an attractive patina effect on the dial, which is also co-signed by 'Pidduck & Sons LTD Hanley'. Pidduck & Sons was a well-known jeweller, goldsmith and silversmith located at the bottom of Market Square in Hanley.
This watch is cased in stainless steel, with the case measuring in at 34mm. The case remains in overall sharp and clean condition. Finally, this watch is powered by an 18 Jewel, manual wind movement.
